It may not be news to some of you that mogul Taysha Smith Valez (TSV), of
H. Couture Beauty entrepreneurship fame, sold a tube of the world’s most expensive diamond-encrusted mascara and lipstick for $14 million.
Well, it’s news to me!
Here’s what I thought was one of the shameless culprits. It’s actually a tube of TSV’s $589 Socialite mascara:
That’s just crazy. But good crazy! I mean, how many of us, if we had the smarts and resources to pull off such a deal, wouldn’t do the same thing?
Oh go ahead. Hem and haw about giving to the poor, shameful gluttony, and greed.
But do any of us know exactly what Ms. Valez did with her profits? Do we know for sure that she hasn’t and isn’t giving to the poor?
Most people immediately judge prosperous folks as being thoroughly self-serving. I don’t judge anyone of a high net worth. I’m not with them 24/7 monitoring what they do with their money, nor should I be. Is it really my business…or yours?
If I had the savvy to create and sell a tube of diamond-studded mascara for a ridiculous sum of cash, don’t think I wouldn’t.
For those who have a problem with other folks making bank, try minding your own business and maybe you’ll come up with a lucrative idea or two…and then we can talk about you.
Or better yet…
Instead of bumping your gums, make yourself useful and ask her PR rep if Taysha is still giving entrepreneurial seminars via The Learning Annex.
Folks, I’m off to figure out how to coat this blog in platinum and sell it to the highest bidder!

Hey, Fyi that is not the actual tube that sold for millions. The real one had blue diamonds with a few rare red diamonds in the mix. And a pink diamond lipstick was sold with it. The picture is a tube of $589 socialite mascara. The owner of the million dollar set is from the UEA. I saw the mascara and lipstick at a private party given by TSV. I am a client of the socialite collection and a few of her other brands and she is a funny woman and yes very smart. Sort of a Upper East Side Socialite ,who is only social with her clients…lolol. I have lived in Manhattan my whole life, I consider myself a socialite, and I have seen her in different resturants and at Barneys and Bendels a few times but I never realized her and I live on the same strip of land on Madison. The world is small. I have never seen her in clubs or society parties, why? because in her words ” I am not a society girl, I am too busy for all of that stuff” Very beautiful lady , beautiful products and services, and she is one to watch for sure. She created a new category in beauty and a a lot of people are angry that they did not come up with it! Most if not all the people & media who have negative comments about what she offers are not clients of hers. So in a nut shell they are haters.!

Hey, thanks for the correction about the mascara, and also the interesting tidbits about TSV. I appreciate it!
I agree with you about the haters. There’s just no need for jealousy, ever. Who has time to be jealous?!
With the time some people spend sending out the evil eye and being jealous, they could have channeled that energy into building their own empire!
